Retention message statuses
Retention messages display a single status during setup and two statuses after you submit edits to an approved message. Your live version continues to display to subscribers uninterrupted until App Review approves the draft. After it’s approved, the draft replaces the previous live version. Sandbox testers always see the latest draft, regardless of its review status.

Developer Rejected |
You removed the retention message from the review submission before App Review evaluated it. |

Rejected |
App Review didn’t approve the retention message. Review the feedback in App Store Connect, make the necessary changes, and resubmit. |
||||||||||
|
Accepted |
Your retention message has been accepted, but one or more other items in the same submission were rejected. Your retention message won't be approved until all items in the submission are accepted. You can edit the rejected items and resubmit them, or remove them from the submission. |
||||||||||
|
Approved |
The retention message is approved and live. It will be displayed to eligible subscribers attempting to cancel. |

The approved retention message remains live to subscribers, while an updated draft is being edited, submitted for review, or was returned for changes. |
