I'm calling .startUpdatingLocation() from the background to detect user's location but the updates stop shortly after they start.

This is a critical feature for our app.
I have:
kCLLocationAccuracyBestForNavigation
allowsBackgroundLocationUpdates = true
pausesLocationUpdatesAutomatically = false
Location Updates in background modes
distanceFilter not set or kCLDistanceFilterNone
