My macOS version: 10.14.4 Mojave

My xCode version: 10.2

License: Personal developer, $100/year, paid for

Other: I do not own an Apple device other than a MacBook Pro. I am simply wanting to publish an app, both on Google Play (was very easy; done), and App Store, for my target audience.

Error 1 (Signing -> Status):

Failed to create provisioning profile.
There are no devices registered in your account on the developer website. Plug in and select a device to have Xcode register it.

Error 2 (Signing -> Status):

No profiles for 'com.appname.appname' were found
Xcode couldn't find any iOS App Development provisioning profiles matching 'com.appname.appname'.

I have searched far and wide, on this forum, StackExchange, Google, YouTube, reddit, and elsewhere, to no avail.

I am not quite sure what to do here; Apple Dev Support either by phone or email has not been able to assist me further, and I'm constantly put into a loop, being referred to one another.

Please advise.

Which is a show stopper in the example of attempting to distribute iOS apps for the store, as the dev is required to have at least one device registered in the Member Center. Error 1 seems clear.
