New ATV bluetooth remote no longer works

I got my dev apple tv, installed the beta OS and everything was working fine. Then after a couple of days, I got a message on screen that apple tv lost contact with the bluetooth remote and it will not reconnect. I know the bluetooth remote has a charge - the volume buttons work, but it will not communicate with the apple tv. As an extra complication, the apple tv no longer shows up in itunes (though it does show up in the xcode devices window), so I can't reset it in any way. I've tried rebooting everything, but the results are always the same.

Has anyone else had similar problems? Any suggestions for fixing it?

Thanks,

Jon

I did get it to restore following the instructions in the install notes, I held the bluetooth remote's meu and play button for 4 seconds and it did go into factory reset allowing me to reinstall the OS. Odd, since it doesn't pay attention to anything else the remote does. Still, the reset and restore made no difference. On the setup screens when it tell me to click the trackpad, it still doesn't react to the remote.

Have you tried re-pairing the remote with the Apple TV by holding the menu and volume up buttons for about 5 seconds?

I've seen the ATV seem to ignore the remote. I just reboot the ATV and everything goes back to normal. I think it's about the dev version OS, and not the hardware. If there is something to do with the remote, a firmware update may help things later.

Thanks! I couldn't find that in the release notes. Would be useful to have it in there.

Thank you TidBits!
