Are there differences between the Developer Kit and the new Apple TV? I have a Developer Kit, and am trying to understand if I should also buy a new Apple TV.

I guess its the same so you don't have to buy another.
Well, you may be in possession of a gen 1 device - wait for a gen 2 to hit the streets before you worry about being behind. I don't think that means now.
My dev device doesn't have an app store on it. Will that appear later? or is that the difference between a dev kit device and a purchased device?
I am assuming there will be one more update to provide the App Store?
There will be an update to bring the Dev kits up to production level.
Be patient; it has to be coming soon as people will be getting their ATVs soon.
