Can I use appleTV as an iBeacon?

Hi,


we have several rooms with large screens and appleTV. We would like to utilize these as iBeacons so that users with mobile iOS devices can have an app running that will 'know' which room they are in. All devices are new.

No, AppleTV won't function as an iBeacon. Neither tvOS, nor iOS permit iBeacons to transmit when the app is in the background.
