Manufacture iBeacon Hardware

I read that in order to create hardware that are iBeacon enabled, I would need just the iBeacon license

"People Making Devices With iBeacon Technology

If you are interested in manufacturing devices with iBeacon technology, you will need to obtain a license before building these devices. Please visit https:/developer.apple.com/ibeacon/ to apply for an iBeacon license. Licensees receive access to technical specifications, a license to use the iBeacon logo, and the iBeacon Identity Guidelines."

I clicked on the "Download Artwork and specification" link, agreed to the license agreement there. Is that the iBeacon license? Is this sufficient? Or would I need the MFi license as well.

This is just my opinon, but I shouldn't think the MFi license would also be necessary.

About the license, I feel that the actual license will be issued to you later. Accepting the license agreement would just be the first step.

Artwork usage agreements are not iBeacon licenses.

There is no longer a need to join the MFi program to develop software or hardware products implementing the iBeacon technology.

If you are unsure whether the terms of the license agreement on the iBeacon developer site apply to you, or you need further clarification on any agreement terms, please submit your question to http://www.apple.com/legal/contact/
