Hey guys,
So I have a very simple question. I just noticed that Weather Underground has a map type setting that allows you to use the black map. As far as I remember, however, Apple didn't provide that option as Apple only uses that for night navigation. Is there a hidden option to enable that? Or is Weather Underground doing something else?
One last thing: if you know how to do that, can you please share it with us, please? I'm really curious.

What you see is what you get in the MapKit API. If some other app has found some way to access some internal implementation of MapKit using a private API, then a) it is likely to break without warning in future and b) they risk having the app pulled from the store or worse (developer account removed).
I haven't looked at that particular app. It's possible they are using a tiled overlay from OSM or some other source to completely replace the map content. But if it is actually Apple's map content displayed in some mode other than normal / hybrid / satellite or the new flyover modes, then they must be using some private API.
