GC accounts with message based invites

Is it possible to use individual game center accounts with the new message based invites?

I have two devices, an iPad running with my main appleId but logged in to another GC account, and an iPhone with everything on my main appleid.

I got strange results. When I tap the invite in the message app (on the invitee side) I just get a message "Hämtar..." (swedish for "Getting", "Loading" or similar), and a Cancel button. It all disappears within a second. I've just started playing with this, but it would be good to know if someone has succeded with this.

I'm not sure what you're asking (and I'm also not Apple). But there are a lot of different accounts that you can be logged into on a single device (App Store, iCloud, Messages, Game Center), and you can be logged into them all with different Apple IDs. For example, on 2 devices, you can be logged into the App Store on both with the same Apple ID but be logged into Game Center with a different Apple ID on each device. Is that what you're asking, or are you looking at a different scenario?

In my testing, I got messages-based invites to work on 2 devices with:

- same App Store login

- different iCloud login

- different Messages login

- different Game Center login

I tried with the same iCloud login on both, but it didn't work for me.

In my limited testing, I've found that it doesn't work if I log in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices. There might be a way to get it to work, but I haven't figured it out. For me, Messages-based invites work best when I use different iCloud accounts and different Messages accounts on both devices.

Can some Apple personel elaborate on this? Is this a bug, or is it expected behavior? Shall it be possible to use different game center accounts in the future, or is that possibility (soon to be) deprecated?

Thanks, I've not had the time to verify that it works with correct logins in those places, but I'm sure you're right. I will have a try soon.

Just a reflection. It feels a bit awkward. I didn't actually know that you could mix icloud and appstore logins, and I did not think about message logins either. Will the average user remember, and have time, to switch all those accounts when another family member shall play a game? Back and forth between children. Maybe that can be a feedback if some apple personel read this.
