Safari on iOS has seemingly changed its behaviour in no longer automatically converting videos that one could pick up from camera roll using an <input type="file"> element.
Safari used to convert and downscale these videos. That is, videos were downscaled to 720p and converted to H.264. This seems no longer the case by default in iOS 13.6.1. Websites will now receive the original video file, as stored on camera roll. In many cases, this will be an HEVC-encoded Quicktime video.
Is it possible to revert to the old behaviour and have iOS automatically convert+downscale user-selected videos in Safari?
Thanks,
Soeren
