Hi! My Apple TV 4K device was left in the beta program 14.2 beta was installed beta 3 Build 18K5047f I would like to indicate that anyone who has homepod devices and played the apple tv sound on a homepod will not go, he will not see the homepod as the default sound announcer. The homepod has been reinstalled with a factory reset, etc. The problem is not solved. The homepod works as a home device for home bridges Siri turns the apple tv on / off. Given that usb c PORT no Apple TV 4K reset is not possible in forums have it written. The solution is to receive a new patched release in beta or to install the final version 14.2 when it arrives. I have the similar problem, but not regarding to HomePod. I can’t find any airplay speakers in the audio source list except the tv speaker. But before updating to the beta version, it’s fine. So I also reckon that should be a kind of bug of the beta version.

I had the same problem after the update to ios 14.2 on my Apple TV 4k and my Homepod speakers. There was no option other than listening to the TV Speakers.

Prior to the update, I would go to Settings and choose to change the Audio Output from TV Speakers to Homepod speakers. When I finished watching TV, I put the Apple TV in Sleep mode. When I returned to watch again, the setup had changed back to TV Speakers.

After update, there no longer was an option in audio output for the Homepod speakers. In fact, the name of the setting had changed from Audio Output to Default Audio Output, and the only choice was TV Speakers.

After a little research, I discovered that in my setup of Home, I had designated the Homepod speakers to "Great Room" and the Apple TV 4K to "Living Room", i.e. they were in the same physical room but were not in the same designated room in Home. When I made them both "Great Room", the problem was fixed.

Even better, with the update to ios 14.2, I can make the Homepod speakers the default audio output for the Apple TV 4k. That is, when I put it to sleep and then turn it on again, it's already outputting to my Homepod speakers. That's a nice fix!

I have the same kind of problem with the release version 14.2,

I'm able to select the default room in the setting , but apple tv could not connect to it.

I received the message 'AirPlay apple TV couldn't connect to "default Room" You can switch to TV Speakers in Settings' TRY AGAIN.
