I have developed an application for iOS and iPadOS in Swift using Storyboards. In iOS the application needs to restrict some views to display in portrait and others to display only in landscape. On iPadOS all views must display only in landscape. In general this all works fine. The one issue I’m having at the moment is that, for some reason, the launch screen on iPadOS always insists in coming up with portrait orientation regardless of the orientation of the iPad device. When the iPhone is in portrait the launch screen appears in portrait, and when the iPhone is in landscape the launch screen will appear in landscape.
What could be causing this to happen for iPadOS, and what could be done that will cause the launch screen to display in landscape?
