I'm wondering if anyone has built apps specifically using FaceID, does apple allow developers to access FaceID source to develop app for features other than authentication?
For example: Apple uses FaceID for attention awareness when diming the screen...
I'd like to know if there are any apps out there that take advantage of the FaceID hardware in other ways?

In general Apple product do not give you access to raw biometric info. However, in the case of Face ID specifically you do have some access to the TrueDepth camera. The camera APIs are far outside of my area of expertise, so I’ve re-tagged your question to see if other folks can chime in. Regardless, you might want to take a look at Streaming Depth Data from the TrueDepth Camera.
