Space manager is invalid zeroed-out block

Hi everyone,

I hope you can help me with this issue. I attached USB SSD drive with encrypted APFS, from iMac (MacOS 10.15.7) to the new Mac Studio (M1 Ultra, MacOS 12.5). After asking for the password, the directories were not read. When I get the SSD back to the iMac, it is no longer recognizable. I tried disk utility, first aid:

Tried to mount:

Also, tried fsck_APFS on the three :

Is there any hope that I can recover the data on this disk?

Thank you all for your help!

Best, Yasser

I have the same problem on a WD external drive. My S.O. version is 14.2.1.

Fun fact, if you connect the drive to the iPhone 15 pro you have access to all files.

iPhone connection worked for me!

Over a year later and this bug still exists. Thanks for sharing a workaround. Hard to believe the iPhone has a more tolerant AFPS system than the Mac. DiskDrill was able to mount it so maybe Apple just wants us to pay them a license instead of fixing their own bug.

Wow, this is just wild! Awesome workaround with iPhone 15 Pro, phew. The Space Manager issue still exists today.

I ran a 16TB HDD through Disk Drill for 27 hrs, just to find out that it does recover all the files BUT in case of ie a Photos Library all the individual files are recovered but not the library itself.
