simulator only shows black screen the apple logo

Hello everbody,


I have an imac with Xcode8.3 Bet and started a new project and added just a backgrodun image.


so NO OWN CODE!



then i build te project and the simulator came up with a black screen and
the white apple logo in the middle of the simulator.



What I have tried already:


  • Reseted the Simulator (Simulator Menu -> "reset content and Settings"
  • cleaned the project up (but that is my first project)
  • restarted XCode
  • re-installed Xcode 2 times...
  • double checked if my
  • checked the Main Interface target at "General -> Deployment Info -> Main Interface = "Main"
  • switched the OutPut from iphone5 to iphone6 or iPad2 or som else >> no success


nothing helped


what else can I try?


at all tutorial what i have seen, you have the possibilty to clicl on the "play" button an build your empty project
and AT LEAST you gett an working simulator with an empty iphone with some dummy icons...I would bre really

happy if anyone could help me out 😟

i removed my Xcode App from the downloads folder to the desktop location! and restarted the Xcode!


Then ( i know it sounds strange )


i opened Xcode and he could find my Test Deviced on the top bar like Iphones and ipads and I thought "OMG lets copy the xcode back to the download section 🙂 )


and then restarted xcode again and now the simulator works great 😀 hahahah
