Can't upload to server to notarize my Packages installer

I'm trying to get my Packages made installer notarized.. I keep getting errors that there is something wrong with the username and password. I assume that I use the same ones that I use to log into the developer site. Is this not correct??

xcrun altool --notarize-app --primary-bundle-id "com.xxxxx.pkg.XXXXXXXX" --username "XXXXXXXX" --password "XXXXXXX" --file Install_MyInstaller.pkg

2023-03-26 20:11:44.465 *** Error: Notarization failed for 'Install_MyApp.pkg'. 2023-03-26 20:11:44.466 *** Error: Unable to upload your app for notarization. Failed to get authorization for username and password

First up, don’t use altool for this. It’s been deprecated for the purposes of notarisation and will stop working in Fall 2023. For more information about notarytool, watch WWDC 2021 Session 10261 Faster and simpler notarization for Mac apps.

As to what’s actually going wrong with your authorisation:

  • Make sure you’re using an app-specific password.

  • If you’re a member of more than one team, specify the Team ID with --team-id.
