I want to reiterate, for those following along at how, that the Hotspot Helper API is not a general purpose Wi-Fi management API. To quote the docs:
NEHotspotHelper is only useful for hotspot integration. There are
both technical and business restrictions that prevent it from being
used for other tasks, such as accessory integration or Wi-Fi based
location.
where hotspot networks are defined as:
Wi-Fi networks where the user must interact with the network to gain
access to the wider Internet
If you’re building a Wi-Fi based accessory there’s no point requesting this entitlement. You should be rejected and, even if you get approved, it’s unlikely that the Hotspot Helper API will actually help you.
