When using a FaceTime call using an iPhone, if you try to call back immediately, the call cannot start.

Is this a limitation of FaceTime?

<Environment>

  • iPad (9th generation)
  • iPadOS 17.0.3

<Preparation>

  • Enabled "Calls from iPhone" and other required settings. Apple ID, network, or more.

<Procedure>

  1. Call from FaceTime to any phone number.
  2. Answer the call on the destination phone.
  3. End the call from the receiving phone.
  4. Immediately after the call ends, use FaceTime to call the same number again (Approximately while the sound after the end of the call is heard from the speaker).

<Result>

  • After procedure 4, "Call Using iPhone Failed" dialog is shown on calling screen.
