Requirements for Image Playground?

I cannot find the hardware requirements for Image Playground documented anywhere. I'm also not sure if they are identical to devices that support Apple Intelligence.

On the App Store, the only requirement listed for Image Playground is iOS 18.2.

Not knowing the requirements is an issue because I need to be able to clearly state the requirements for the feature in my app description.

Also, I'm sure my mother's current iPad is too old, but I'm not sure what models support it if I were to buy her a new one.

Hi @3DTOPO,

Image Playground requires a device capable of Apple Intelligence. We don't have an exhaustive list of these devices for developers to reference, and suggest using the .isAvailable flags to check for Apple Intelligence features.

In your app or on your App Store page, you can communicate to the user that your app requires a device with Apple Intelligence in order to use this functionality.

Some users will choose not to enable Apple Intelligence on their device, and as mentioned here, there is no supported way for an app to check if this is the case. You can file an enhancement request in Feedback Assistant if you believe there's a compelling case for that functionality.

As far as your question about purchasing a new iPad, if a device supports Apple Intelligence, this will be indicated on the Apple Store product page.

I don't understand the mystery. As a developer, I don't even know what devices will work with the new features I worked hard to develop.

That seems like an issue. I'm just asking for a little guidance because I cannot find this documented anywhere. Please help.
