In XCode 8.3.2, my Single View Application build so far consists of a background image, a few placed images, and a button all on the main storyboard. And, this setup is now only appearing as a completely white screen on Simulator. Before I added images and the button, I was able to launch Simulator and see the background image. Yes, I am a beginner though am following instructions very meticulously. I've not even modified any code other than connecting the IBOutlets (which do not show broken links). Any ideas as to why the white screen pops up? I would wonder if there is a launch screen issue here, but Simulator worked when I merely had a basic background image in the app.
