Email "Updates to FairPlay Streaming Server SDK" makes no sense

Hi, While I don't normally use FairPlay, I got this email that is so strangely worded I am wondering if it makes sense to people who do know it or if it has some typo or what.

You can only generate certificates for SDK 4, also SDK 4 is no longer supported?

(Also "will not expire" is imprecise phrasing, certificates presumably will expire, I think it meant to say are still valid / are not invalidated.)

So Apple is unifying their version numbering across the board to roughly correspond to the coming year number (like Windows 95 or car model years for example.) I don't recall seeing this explicitly mentioned for Fairplay anywhere, but I think Version 26 has essentially replaced Version 5, with some new extra changes sneaked in. Hard to guess if version 26 certificates will work with what up to this point had been version 5, but I hope so?

You can still generate certificates for SDK 4 and receive technical support until September 2026.

Certificates generated for SDK 26 should not be used with SDK 5. With SDK 26 you can support multiple sets of credentials, including certificates generated for SDK 4, SDK 5.
