Minigame support in GameKit?

My app contains hundreds of games, each of which would benefit from its own set of achievements, leaderboards, etc.

Is there any hope for minigame support in GameKit?

It's quite impressive that your app contains so many games!

GameKit's standard achievement system natively supports up to 100 achievements, which seems a bit limited for your use case, with less than 1 achievement available per game.

There are always opportunities to push the envelope, and some things that might be worth trying for your app are:

  • Creating 1 achievement per game, which is only considered complete after achieving a variety of sub-goals.
  • Creating groups of similar or related mini-games so that there are reasonable groupings of achievements that make sense for your app.

Certainly, your app is substantial enough that you are flirting with the upper limits of our achievements system.

With this in mind, you might consider some higher-cost options like implementing your own sub-achievement tracking and leaderboards.

We also appreciate this valuable feedback. To help us keep track of this request going forward, please go to Feedback Assistant and file an Enhancement Request (ER) choosing “Suggestion” in the “What type of issue are you reporting” popup.

If you would like to add a “What to Play” section to your app's game page in Apple Games, please contact our developer support team for assistance.

Cheers 🍻
