Hello Apple community I would like to know why new Siri is currently inactive on my phone. I have a iPhone 17 base model and downloaded iOS 27 beta. I suspect that it is not functioning due to me being 13 and having parental controls on. That is my guess why New Siri is not downloading. The phone states that I have joined the waitlist though my stance on the situation is that there is more to this!
It's possible that parental controls are playing a role, but based on my own experience, I wouldn't assume that's the cause right away.
I'm using an iPhone 17 Pro and I'm experiencing issues with the new Siri as well, even without parental control restrictions. In my case, the phone shows that I'm enrolled, the new Siri setup appears, and some signs suggest that Apple Intelligence is available, but Siri still doesn't activate correctly.
Since you're on an iOS 27 beta, there's also a chance that you're running into a beta-related bug rather than an age or parental control restriction. If your phone says you've joined the waitlist, that at least suggests the enrollment process has started.
I'd check whether Apple Intelligence and Siri are fully enabled in Settings and make sure your device has finished any background setup tasks. If everything looks correct, it may simply require waiting for a future beta update or for Apple to complete the activation on their end.
