VZVirtualMachineView.automaticallyReconfiguresDisplay does not work for Golden Gate

I am using Virtualization framework for running Golden Gate VM in swift ui window with VZVirtualMachineView. i have set the automaticallyReconfiguresDisplay to true. but when i resize the window the resolution of Golden Gate does not change automatically to fit the window. This works fine for Tahoe. Golden Gate is not respecting the automaticallyReconfiguresDisplay.

Any help in fixing this bug would be very helpful to me. Thanks in advance

I update the host macOS to 27.0.1 and the problem resolved.

This works fine for Tahoe.

Please file a bug about this, and post the bug number, just for the record.

In general, when you see a simple regression — some reasonable thing that works on macOS N but fails on macOS N + 1 — then it’s best to start with a bug. It’s fine to start a thread here to discuss the impact, or to double check that you’re not doing something wrong, you want to start with a bug report.

Today i tested this with Golden Gate 27.0 public release and the problem remains. where as in tahoe and ubuntu it works fine. not sure which is causing the issue. any help would be appreciated.

Did you file a bug about this? If so, what was that bug number?

As a Workaround : On the first boot of Golden Gate go to display settings and select the one with (Default) and apply the settings. Once we did that in the guest the automatic reconfigure display started working fine. If we dont do that automatic reconfigure display does not work.

Thanks.

So my Bug Reporting: How and Why? post has a bunch of hints and tips on the bug reporting process, and I want to call out a couple here:

  • If you’re a developer, it’s better to file a bug under Developer Technologies & Resources rather than, say, under macOS.
  • It’s vital that you attach a sysdiagnose log, ideally one that was recorded on the affected Mac shortly after reproducing the problem.

Regarding that last point, I noticed your bug has no such log and so it’ll likely get bounced back asking for one.
