How to request SCSIControllerDriverKit entitlement for Mac App Store distribution

Hello, I’m developing a macOS iSCSI initiator intended for Mac App Store distribution.

The host app handles iSCSI networking, while an embedded DriverKit extension subclasses IOUserSCSIParallelInterfaceController to expose remote iSCSI LUNs as macOS block devices. This is a virtual network-backed controller, without USB or PCI hardware.

Development signing and builds succeed, but Mac App Store export fails because the driver’s distribution provisioning profile does not include: com.apple.developer.driverkit.family.scsicontroller Developer Support confirmed that our team’s approved entitlements include DriverKit UserClient Access, but do not include SCSIControllerDriverKit. They referred us to the forums for guidance.

Could an Apple engineer clarify:

  1. Is this entitlement available for Mac App Store distribution of a virtual iSCSI controller?
  2. Does it require separate approval, and what is the correct application channel?
  3. I submitted a System Extension entitlement request selecting “SCSI Controller.” Is that the correct process?

Thank you.

I submitted a System Extension entitlement request selecting “SCSI Controller.” Is that the correct process?

Yes, that's the correct process.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for confirming that this is the correct process.

Developer Support confirmed that they don’t review these requests and advised me to wait for the responsible team.

Would you be able to help check whether my request has reached the appropriate team, or point me to a way to follow up? I’d be happy to provide any additional technical information needed for the review.

Thank you for your help.
