iOS 17 Simulator Unresponsive in Xcode 27.1 — Unable to Type or Interact with the Screen

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue when running an iOS application on an iOS 17.x Simulator using Xcode 27.1.

The simulator becomes completely unresponsive to user input, whether my application is running or not. I cannot type anything or interact with the screen, including tapping UI elements. However, I can still switch between Light and Dark Mode, and the appearance changes accordingly.

This makes it impossible to test my application on iOS 17.x using the simulator.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with Xcode 27.1 and the iOS 17.x Simulator? Is there a known workaround or configuration that could resolve this?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes, Thank you.I have tried Xcode 27.2 RC and it is working fine

Thanks for the post. I wonder if you have tried Xcode 27.2 RC and if you are encountering the same issue?

If you can reproduce it in the latest Xcode may I ask you for a simple focused project I can reproduce it quickly?

That'll help us better understand what's going on.

@MoMagdi I have no troubles using iOS 17 simulators (iPhone 13 Pro with 17.5 in my case) with Xcode 27.1 or Xcode 27.2 RC. I can type using the onscreen keyboard and the app I'm debugging is perfectly responsive. As Albert mentioned, try Xcode 27.2 RC. 27.1 is basically out of date now.

@MoMagdi Thanks so much for letting us know Xcode 27.2 RC is working well for you.
