CarPlay Simulator ignores Light appearance setting after sunset

When I set the Appearance in the CarPlay Simulator to Light, the setting is only respected during daytime. After sunset, CarPlay switches to and stays in Dark mode, regardless of the Light setting.

This makes it difficult to test Light and Dark mode during evening development sessions, since Light mode is unavailable until the next sunrise.

Expected behavior:
When Appearance is explicitly set to Light, the CarPlay Simulator should stay in Light mode at any time of day, so both appearances can be tested whenever needed.

Actual behavior:
After sunset, the CarPlay Simulator remains in Dark mode even though Light is selected.

This issue has been present for quite a while. A fix would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the post and that seems like a bug as it looks like you can’t override it by setting the dark and light mode.

Can you create a bug to verify the issue? Once you open the bug report, please post the FB number here for my reference.

An idea or suggestion from the top of my head since the CarPlay Simulator relies on sunrise/sunset times to enforce Dark Mode, you can trick it by changing your simulated location to somewhere in the world where it is currently daytime?

I just filed FB25269898. Several months back it worked to adjust the time zone or time, I can't remeber exactly.
Right now I can not find any way to trick it into light mode.
