I've build a small iOS 11 app and it works fine when testing it on my local iPhone 6. However when I try to run it on my iPone 8 Plus it gives an error saying my iPhone 4 (actually my iPhone 8 Plus, but it's being registered as iPhone 4 for some reason) is missing support files.
If I disconnect and reconnect my device using the "Add Additional Simulators" window I get this warning message:
I've been looking on the forums and also online for a solution but so far I've not been able to find anyone else reporting the same issue.
I've already tried updating xCode, my iPhone 8 Plus and my Macbook Air to all the latest versions and rebooted/restarted everything multiple times, though this issue still remains.
If anyone has a solution to this, please let me know.
Regards,
Tom
Update: aparently my new iPhone 8 Plus came with a glitched version of the iOS 11 beta version pre-installed and could not be removed (the beta profile wasn't in the settings.) The phone could also not be reset in the settings, in iTunes or using the recovery mode in combination with iTunes. Even Apple support didn't know how this could've happened but I've managed to reset my iPhone and now everything is working as intended.
