Tried to connect an iPad Pro (12.9" 2nd gen) Model A1670 runs iOS 11.2 (15C114) with Xcode 9.1, but I alway get "Could not locate device support files" - "...which may not be supported by this version of Xcode" - how weired? I use the latest final Xcode Version 9.1 (9B55) on my Mac Book Pro. Any idea how to get it working. I need it urgently to test and build as target.

Not the latest final. Already replaced by v9.2
And you're not alone, in that Xcode 9.1 doesn't know about iOS 11.2
That was solved yesterday with the release of Xcode 9.2, however....the store doesn't know about Xcode 9.2 yet. Maybe soon.
