My 2016 15in macbook pro has been getting really hot really fast recently. When checking the activity monitor, there is always 2 diagnosticd process that use over 100 cpu each. I have tried to quit the process, but they just pop back up.

diagnosticd

is a daemon that, as you might imagine, wrangles diagnostics. As there’s no developer API for this, my recommendation is that you ask this question over in [Apple Support Communities][asc], run by Apple Support.
