We'd like to know the specification for apple-touch-icon on Safari; specifically, whether multiple icons can be specified for a certain domain or only one icon is available for one domain.
We are currently setting apple-touch-icon on our website, but there is one issue we are currently facing on Safari for iOS 9.x and iOS 10.x, and we'd like to know that this is a specification for apple-touch-icon or this is a bug on Safari.
Suppose there are two pages: A and B.
A) http://s.ameblo.jp/ebizo-ichikawa
B) http://s.ameblo.jp/tsuji-nozomi
A has its apple-touch-icon below:
<link data-react-helmet="true" rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="http://stat100.ameba.jp/blog/img/ameba/officialblog/face/ebizo-ichikawa_120.jpg">
B has its apple-touch-icon below:
<link data-react-helmet="true" rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="http://stat100.ameba.jp/blog/img/ameba/officialblog/face/tsuji-nozomi_120.jpg">
We are setting the apple-touch-icon using the following tag:
<link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="otherFileName" />
The issue is, when an user bookmarks page B after bookmarking page A, the icon appearing is the one for page A, not for page B.
We would like to know whether
1. it is the specification for apple-touch-icon on Safari,
2. the way we specify the icons are not right, or
3. this is a bug related to Safari itself or bookmark functionality on Safari.
Thank you in advance.
