I am exporting from C4D as both fbx and usdz (animation formats)--- but fbx seems to be the only format that loads into Converter. When I import usdz, it gets multiple errors -- primarily with the materials. I have been exporting from C4D and/or Blender and then drag/drop the fbx into Converter. As I mentioned, when I import the reindeer as a static model -- all looks good (size, material, etc) but once I import it as an animation is when the problems occur. Sounds like the issues are stemming from the 3d software and not Converter. Just wanted to see if there were some export tips from your team so that I can work more with Composer and Converter.
