Hello Apple community,
Im in a rut. Worked on universal links for almost a week. Ive followed allt he documentation including:
- placing the apple-app-site-association file at root of my web server and .well-known.
- Made the content serve type as application/json.
- Serve MIME type application/json
- removed file extension
- served over https
- running off iOS 11.3 so no required to sign the file
- verified that my json is correct using a validator
- made my paths [*] so it responds to all url paths
- added my associated domains to xcode capabilities
- added applinks: {mydomain}.ca & applinks: www.{mydomain}.ca
- I used apple deep link validator which reports that no app Id found. Online users report that this is normal for apps not yet in the store. I think it is ridiculous that the validation tool would only work for apps in the store but whatever.
I watched my device logs in xcode and I saw that the applinks was added to device. Device shows: 'Added service 'applinks', appId 'XXXX', domain '{mydomain}'.
I wrote the link out in Notes app then long pressed and safari opens.
A few more details: my site is served off an s3 bucket which is served from cloudfront. I am using amazon certificate for https.
Not sure what else I can say, I think I covered it pretty well. Im going crazy, what else could it be?
any help outside the above is appreciated
Cheers
