Feedback: moderate this sub-forum

The topic is "Provide feedback or request enhancements to the forums."

The first 13 posts I see have nothing to do with that.

So my feedback for Apple is: moderate this sub-forum a little, please. Maybe it needs to be more clear what this sub-forum is about. Thanks!

You must be new...

It's not about being clear, it's about people coming in and (a) not bothering to find the correct forum, leaving this one to be a catch-all, and (b) the effort to find a more appropriate forum exceeds the impatience to post, where both are too high.

>moderate this sub-forum a little

A lot of posts are out of topic, in many sub-forums. Some of us regularly ask people to move their topic … We all need to show a bit more discipline on this.

But I must admit I did post on this forum tpoics that were not for it, but could not find the right one.

And may be the forum title could be more explicit.

As well as the self-discipline to close one's thread when answer is provided…

Sure, but this partucluar sub seems dominated by off-topic threads.

Unlike KMT, I'm not faulting folks for picking the wrong sub. It's up to Apple to do just a little moderation. Or perhaps some devoted users could be made moderators.

By close one's thread do you mean click the "Correct Answer" button?

Yes, that's what I mean to close. and that can be on one's own answer if someone has finally found the solution by him/herself. But thare are to many thread left open over years !

If you're hoping that devForums will meet your expectations, you'll be in for a long wait. Moderation that you envision was tried and failed. It's mostly hands off now, with only the most egregious comments/spam handled, and the occasional thread moved by one engr. Things were only made worse when non-devs were invited in. Spend more time here and you'll see this isn't your normally run forum.

In the mean time, feel free to use the report bugs link, below right, to file enhancement requests against the tools. Be sure to add your report #s to your thread for reference.

Good luck.
