Why did McAfee quarantine libswiftUIKit.dylib as malware?

Why did McAfee quarantine libswiftUIKit.dylib as malware while I was building a project. It caused a compile error. It says "Swift stdlib tool Error" and " Task failed with exit 1 signal 0 {".

Anyone else ever run into this problem?

I'm not sure anyone else uses that product 😉 - best way to rectify the issue is an uninstall.

Same happened to me.. I don't know what to do since Mcafee won't restore the quarantined files.

I was able to uninstall McAfee and then uninstall Xcode and reinstall Xcode then reintall Xcode.

Then I deleted the app from the device or simulator and Alt-clean the project and build and run the project and it build and ran just fine.

McAfee is supposed to call me back. They had to escalate the problem and get a higher-level service repreresentative to help me because the quarantined files won't resotore. I think I can reinstall McAfee and have McAfee exclude Xcode files from being scanned. The service representative hopefully will know what to do. Or I can just leave McAfee uninstalled like KMT from Apple insists upon.

I am not from Apple.

I experienced the same problem with McAfee quarantining the file. I suspect it has to do with McAfee not knowing what the file is.

In my case, temporarily turning off real-time scanning allowed me to proceed.

I hope this helps someone else.

On a similar (McAfee), but different topic, McAfee also causes issues with Xcode Build->Archive process. If you get a clang error like the following then you'll want to uninstall McAfee (this took some time to track down). Note that a standard Xcode Build does not cause crashes, only the process of Archiving:

fatal error: error in backend: Unexpected end of file

clang: error: clang frontend command failed with exit code 70 (use -v to see invocation)

Apple LLVM version 10.0.1 (clang-1001.0.46.4)

Target: arm-apple-darwin18.6.0

Thread model: posix
