In iOS12 Guided Access, can't set Screen no-Lock.

I used iPad with Guided Access, when set no-lock the screen never became off.

After updating to iOS 12, the screen became off(dark) in about 20 minutes.

When Guided Access Off, never became off.

So I think that this problem is due to Guided Access.

Same problem. Guided Access does not work and display goes off after 10 - 25 minutes. App works without Guided Access and display never goes sleep.

We have the same issue here. Tested in 12.1 beta 2 and still the same. Goes to sleep after exactly 19.5 minutes.

Reported to Apple as bug #44961008

This has to be a bug because even if the app has the idleTimerDisabled set to true, the device will go to sleep (screen/network off).

We can also confirm this is specific to an app being in Guided Access mode. Not inside Guided Access mode, the app's setting of idleTimerDisabled true seems to work as expected.

I can also confirm, that this bug still exists in iOS 12.1 Beta 5. I filed a radar and hope that Apple resolves it for iOS 12.1 because a lot users who run our app as a kiosk solution suffer on that bug.

Yeah we're having the same issue, our visitation system is now taken offline becuse our kiosks are unusable..
Really need a hotfix asap for this.

We also have the same issue with our visitor management solution and cannot use any new iPad. It works fine without the guided access being active, but this is of course not viable in our context. And with guided access turned on, the screen turns off after some minutes.

iOS 12.1 didn't fix this. When can we expect a fix?

Not yet fixed in iOS 12.1.1 B2!

Please Apple, fix it asap, meanwhile we are receiving more and more requests from all over the world why this does not work.

Glad I found this thread. This was driving me nuts. I'm experiencing the same issue -- iPad Pro iOS 12.1.x (latest).

Guided access ON

Auto-lock set to NEVER

Screen dims and then locks in about 20 minutes. When guided access is OFF and auto-lock is left at NEVER, the screen does not lock (as expected).

Hello,

Same here. Any news when it will be fixed?

Very annoying.

It looks like that it will be fixed with iOS 12.1.3 because I checked it with Beta 3 on my development iPad 6th generation. Maybe someone can confirm it too with another device.

I checked with the released iOS version 12.1.3 on the new iPad Pro 11' and the screen goes automatically black.

Please Apple, fix this bug with the next version!

There is a fix starting with iOS 12.1.1 but you have to enable it manually in the iPad settings:

1. Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and select "Never"

2. General > Accessibility > Guided Access > turn on "Mirror Display Auto-Lock".

3. turn on Guided Access like before. The screen stays active

Perfect, thanks, I got the hint from an user too. It works!
