MacBook Pro space question

I have macbook pro retina mid 2015 i try to make my mind up if 250gb would be all i need for mac and ios programming or should i upgrade to macbook pro 2018?

If am right i could use a usb drive to put my projects on to save space?

Is 250 GB the total storage or the available (how much left ) ?

Consider that you will probably have XCode plus at least one beta.

If 250 GB as total storage, you could rapidly run short of storage. How much RAM do you get (16GB is now a minimum for XCode to run correctly).

My advice would be: to start with your 2015 Mac, look how it works.

If you get issues, then consider a more powerful: don't be shy on disk storage nor on RAM (the max the better)

When i got this macbook pro it came with 16gb and 256gb ssd install xcode i down to 214.24 space.I learning to program on this laptop snd the laptop is max out for the ram.I was told you can't upgrade the retina macbook pro if that true.I was told at bestbuy that they can't open the macbook pro up.

I forgot it has a i7 2.2 and intel video card.hank for help me out.
