Simulator can't access Homekit data or find Accessories

I'm trying to use the latest Homekit Catalog app. (7/10/15 release) The app builds, starts and runs in Simulator (iPhone 6, iOS 9.0) but it cannot access Home data or find any accessories hosted by the Homekit Accessory Simulator. I've signed into iCloud in the Simulator's Settings.

I cannot test the app on my real iPhone 6 since it's running iOS 8.4, and this version of HK Catalog requires 9.0.

The previous Homekit Catalog (1/24/15), built with iOS 8.4 as the deployment target, works fine (finds and controls accessories) on my real iPhone 6 running iOS 8.4 but likewise the app cannot "see" any accessories from within the iOS 9.0 iPhone 6 Simulator. It will be "Browsing for new accessories" forever.

Running XCode 7b3 on Macbook running OS 10.10.4.

Workaround: I put my iPhone 6 on iOS 9 public beta yesterday, so I can now play with the new Homekit Catalog. The problem with Simulator remains unsolved.

Any update to this? Here we are in Xcode 9.2 and I still cannot see my real HomeKit database from within Simulator even though my Simulator is logged into my iCloud account (I can see my Photos, for instance) and HomeKit is enabled for my app in Settings:Privacy:HomeKit.

I'd appreciate confirmation that it's simply not possible if that's the case. If it IS possible, please enlighten me.

My app works fine on my real iPhone, just not in Simulator. No errors are reported, the Home Manager just never returns.
