Hey. I have an idea for an application that will show certain statistics for each country in the world, for example, unemployment, average salary, and so on. Can I release it as an individual or should I be a legal entity?

An individual is a legal entity.
I think the only category of apps that requires a verified company membership is gambling apps. So for a regular info/entertainment app individual is fine.
Do you mean Developer (App Store distribution~Individual or Company) or Enterprise (corporate/internal to employees) account...?
Who would be the user?
