"This app requires specific features no available on this device" trying to update app

While trying to update the Compass(iinfinity) app I get this "specific features" message. It worked on IOS12. It appears that several of the "compass" apps have the same scenario. iPad 5th generation (MP242LL/A)
Has anybody else encounted this?
