no software updates available after installing beta profile

I must be doing something wrong here because I've done lots of searches and not seeing anyone else with this problem. I just installed the iPadOS 13 beta 6 profile on my iPad, did the restart, and then went to Settings -> General -> Software Update, but it says iOS 12.4 is up to date and there is no option to install the 13 beta.


What am I doing wrong and how can I install the beta?

I think I figured it out. Apparently the original iPad Air (model A1474) is not supported for iPodOS 13. I'm guessing that's the reason I'm not seeing at update. I wish it checked that during the profile installation and prevented it.
