Using PushKit to launch an app (even force-quit) into background in a non-voip app?

Hy

We need a way to start an app into background (even if it was force-quit by the user), so I read about PushKit...

Is it possible to use PushKit for this scenario, even if our app isn't a Voip-App?

Or are there any other ways to achieve this?

Thanks for your help,

Peter

Hello Experts,

I would like to join to the question of cscdeveloper.

Can one use the PushKit Framework for No-VoIP-Apps? If a No-VoIP-App uses the PushKit Framework, will the App get rejected from AppStore?

Thanks and best regards

Any update on this?

Any news?

Ditto - can we use Pushkit in an app which has the VOIP flag enabled and which is destined for the App Store?

+100000 are there any apple employees who can give an answer to this?

If you want answer from Apple employees, it is better to file a DTS to them.

They don't participate too much on that forum 🙂

Are there any updates?

1. If I were a user of your app and force-quit the app, I would expect it to stay inactive until the next time I touch its icon on the homescreen. I would NOT be happy if the app showed up running again after I just killed it.

2. Don't try to use an API for something it was not designed for.

3. There is no way to accomplish what you are suggesting nor is it a good idea as I've pointed out in my first two points.
