I'm using Core NFC framework in my app. We need to read credit card number, expiry date when I tap the NFC Credit card on the iPhone on which my app is installed.
I see Apple UI presented in my app which asks to readnearby NFC. But when I tap my contactless credit card on the iPhone it never reads or detects NFC. However it reads other NFC Tags seamlessly.
Am I doing something wrong?
Does anyone know the answer? Does iOS NFC support reading credit card infomation at all? I see Apple document saying "Core NFC doesn't support payment-related Application IDs.", but don't understand what this means. Thanks!
The answer is no, due to security reason or payment business considerations (Apple Pay), Apple block most AID I know about payment.
can anyone please provide an update on the Credit Card reading capability via NFC SDK? Would like to hear directly from Apple if possible. ?
Would really appreciate if someone can provide an update on the requirement above. I have heard with the new version of IOS there is a possibility to read credit cards via NFC. Can someone please confirm?
