Has anyone else noticed this? I know developers might need to migrate but up until this beta watchOS 1 style apps would run. I'm getting either a crash on launch (on all of my third-party watchOS 1 apps, mine and others like Twitter, Dark Sky, etc) or a "Unlock iPhone to view" message. Was getting the latter before a reboot of my watch but now I'm getting the former. Just wanting to confirm this is an issue for others as I didn't see anything in the release notes mentioning this.
I have resolved these problems by unpairing my Apple Watch and then pairing again and restoring the backup that is made when you unpair.
From the Watch app on iPhone, I choose Apple Watch > Unpair Apple Watch.
Now, apps from the App Store launch correctly along with their glances. Other improvements include the Music glance working correctly and Maps loading – two things that were failing after my update to watchOS 2 beta 5 but didn't mention in my previous post.
Note on Pairing
I had to skip setting a passcode on the Apple Watch during pairing. When I tried to set a passcode on my first pairing attempt, the Apple Watch never advanced from the new Passcode entry screen to the "Unlock with iPhone" screen. After entering and confirming the passcode, my iPhone advanced to a screen telling me that I needed to chose an "Unlock with iPhone" option from the Apple Watch, but the Apple Watch never advanced from the passcode to that screen.
To try and pair again, I had to press firmly on the Apple Watch to cancel pairing and reset the device. From the iPhone, I pressed "Back" which canceled pairing on the iPhone's end and returned to me to begining of the pairing process.
