Hello,
At the moment, I have the need to connect with the iPhone's safari to a specific cluster/website so, I need to modify the hosts file so that, the phone connects to the cluster I need to instead of the phone using public DNS servers to find the actual public IP address of the production website and connect me to the website I don't need.
Some people recommend the use of dropbox to transfer the file that needs to be modified over to a mini Mac and modify it there before transferring back to the iPhone 6.
So, here are the questions I have for this forum if someone knows how to do this in a better way. please share.
1) Can a file (equivalent to /etc/hosts) be modified on iPhone 6 so that, it causes safari on the phone to target the IP address on the file instead of the website's IP address as listed on public DNS?
2) Assuming the above is possible, what are the steps to achieve this?
3) If #1 not possible, is there another way to achieve this and if so, what are the steps?
Thanks in advance
Misael
