Google Admob information about cookies

Hey,

I'm using Admob in my app ( for banner and Interstitials ads). LAtely I've got this email from Google:

DearPublisher,

We want to let you know about a new policy about obtaining EU end-users’ consent that reflects regulatory and best practice guidance. It clarifies your duty to obtain end-user consent when you use products like GoogleAdSense,DoubleClickforPublishers, andDoubleClickAdExchange.

Please review ournew EU user consent policy as soon as possible. This requires that you obtain EU end users’ consent to the storing and accessing of cookies and other information, and to the data collection, sharing, and usage that takes place when you useGoogle products. It does not affect any provisions on data ownership in your contract.

Pleaseensure that you comply withthis policy as soon as possible, andnot later than 30thSeptember2015.

If your site or app does not have a compliant consent mechanism, you should implement one now.To make this process easier for you, we have compiled some helpful resources at cookiechoices.org.

This policy change is being made in response to best practice and regulatory requirements issued by the European data protection authorities. These requirements are reflected in changes recently made on Google’s own websites.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Regards,TheGooglePolicyTeam

So I put information what shows during first open my app:

We use device identifiers to personalise content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyse our traffic. We also share such identifiers and other information from your device with our social media, advertising and analytics partners.

Like I said before I'm only using Admob for simple banner and Interstitials ads. I'm not doing nothing fancy with cookies, device identifiers or something like that. I only put this information because Google sent me this email.

Do you this this information is good?

I'm worrying a bit that Apple could reject my app because of this ( it's waiting for review).

Thanks.

Maybe you should have put that information in your privacy policy. However, regardless of where the information is placed, I don't think App Review is going to like it. First, you're using a ad system other than iAd, and second, the alternate system you are using works in a manner that is directly contradictory to Apple's goal of privacy and anonymity with online services (including advertising)

If your app gets approved, good for you, but I think there's a fairly decent chance you'll get rejected. If that does happen, I think you should switch to iAd so you don't have to show Google's creepy notice about tracking the device identifiers.

Thank you for the answer. I changed ads from Admob to iAd and deleted this information about cookies.

I have status 'waiting for review' I've waited 4 days alredy so now my waiting time restarts after I put new version on the iTunes Connect ?

Unfortunately, the waiting time will restart, but this time I'll be surprised if you get rejected about the advertising. Good luck with your update!
