Apps keep reappearing in "waiting" state

Hi, Today I noticed that iMovie, Flickr and YouTube apps are all darker out and have "waiting" underneath them. At first I was not able to delete them but after a restart that worked. However they suddenly reappeared. All three. All remain in "waiting" mode. I can delete them again but things start over. If I am fast enough I can delete and then manually install them from App Store. They will even work. But after a few seconds will go back to waiting stage. Logging of from App Store seems to resolve it. However when logging back in things start over. Turning off automatic app installation and app updates are not helping. Any idea? Regards JP

Hi Peter,

There are a couple of ways that usually work to "unstick" apps stuck on a persistent waiting status:

  1. Open Launchpad and hold the alt/option key. Click the x to delete them/stop the download. This normally resets their status.
  2. In the Activity Monitor, for example, kill the
    storedownloadd
process. Then restart App Store and click resume.

I think that, in your case, method 2 is more likely to do the trick.

Let us know if this answers your question 🙂
