Anything to be worried about with the GM update?
watchOS 2 GM any issues being seen?
After my problems yesterday, re-pairing my Apple Watch to my 6+ seems to have helped (so far).
Although, I did lose out on my standing and activity progress because my watch drained while I was at work, (no charger here), and the process took so long to charge and pair again.
Hopefully the battery will stay good today.
Performance seems quick and responsive. Watch is at 90% after 4 hrs today.
With beta 5 and GM my exercise is going up while doing nothing at all. When I'm working I sit at my desk and have 40 minutes of exercise done without doing anything.
7% sound like what I had with Watch OS 1. But now I have 15% in three hours. I will do now what you say and reset all the contents and settings again. Hopefully the battery drain is then the same like yours.
Massive battery drain. Running watchOS 2 GM and iOS 9 GM. Watch off the charger at 6:30am and flatline dead at 1:30pm. This is NOT a GM release.
If it does this next week going from 1.01 I would definitely agree. From a beta to GM, not a great experience but if you're on this forum you're already savvy enough to do the wipe and restore. Given how widespread this is, would have expected developer release notes to clearly indicate a wipe is needed first.
My 2c
I did now the reset of content and settings and re-paired the watch as a new device. Too early to complain. Let's see if this solved the problem with the high battery drain now.
Re-pair DID help! 😀 It's more or less back to 1.01 in terms of responsivness and battery has so far been sooo much better than before the re-pair.
Hi Chivs,
the battery drain is now gone after I made an reset of content and settings. Pressing only unpair does not work.
But it is strange why this caused the battery drain. Have you synced your photos and music playlist again with the watch? Maybe this is the problem. Now I have no photos and music on the Apple Watch and the battery lifetime is really perfect. I want first to leave the watch like it is now to see how long it will take before I must put it on the charger. But I am a little but afraid that when I sync photos and music again with the watch that the battery drain will come back.
Hi Arnfried,
Did you made an reset of content and setting through the Apple Watch or did you use it through the Apple Watch app on the iPhone?
Lift my watch of the charger at 2.:48 PM and now 7:20 PM 80% battery left.
Some 20% drop in four and a half hours.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Jordy
unpair and pair again, that fixed the battery drain issue for me
Now some numbers from first full day of use..
Stand by: 15h 45min, Usage: 2h 46min, battery left on watch: 56%
Everything set to max. Light, sound, haptic and 70s.
This is quite impressive numbers and about what a great day with the 1.01 looked like. There are some cumbersome / annoying delays when replaying to messages - I every now and then press twice becase the watch reacts so slow and thereby sending a non intentional answer. I need to learn to wait when nothing happens. Annoying and I wish the watch was faster.
I reset my watch, repaired and restored. I've lost 12% in an hour, so really no improvement.
It's been nearly 24 hours since I reset the watch. Battery life has greatly improved. It's about an hour before I intend to go to bed and I still have 23% remaining. This is however less than the 40-55% I would always have remaining in watchOS2 b5.
same for me here, setting at my desk, it goes up. Doing a real activity like Outdoor Walking instead doesn't count at all, pretty weird though
