Apple TV can't connect to hidden wifi networks

The Apple TV cannot connect to hidden wifi networks. I found this out while in my own personal ****, entering my WPA2 security key laboriously over and over with the Remote, only to have it error every time. Switch the network to broadcast its SSID and boom, it works. Hopefully this can be improved, as I don't like to keep my network public. Never had a problem with a hidden network with any other Apple device.

Thanks for the head's up. I think I've been experiencing the same issue. The SSID in my office is not broadcast (just like in your situation), but unfortunately I am not able to get my IT group to set it to broadcast. I tried using my development iPad running iOS 9.1 to do the automatic TV Setup, but it kept searching for the SSID and couldn't find it (even though the iPad was connected to it). Eventually I just turned on my iPhone's hotspot and it connected over that to complete the setup, but that doesn't seem like an ideal solution either.

I think I'm getting the same problem. The SSID is not broadcast, and tvOS asks first for the SSID to be manually entered but then never asks for the password/login details and instead just yields an error that the wifi password is incorrect. I'm running the GM seed and this still happens. I can't figure out to make this work and assume it's a software defect.
