Apple Font Tool Suite

Hi!

This tool can be downloaded from the member center and it's linked from this page (https://developer.apple.com/fonts/). We rely on it to use ftxdumperfuser to be able to modify font attributes in a text editor.

I had installed this a long time ago but OS X El Capital can't find it so I re-download it, but when trying to install I get a warning that tells me that the package might harm my computer or that the installation can fail. Effectively failed. Is this because of Sytem Integrity Protection?

Any ideas if this tool will be updated or if there are any alternatives?

Thanks!

Same problem here, any ideas?

Hi, I ran into the same issue. Have you found an alternatives?

I ended up doing it with free font editing software FontForge.

Open the font with FontForge and select Element in the top menu, then go to Font Info > OS/2 > Metrics.

Once you've done the editing you wanted you can just export the font in File > Generate Fonts and select the right font format

I'm having the same issue. It's strange that Apple advertises the tools (https://developer.apple.com/fonts/), yet they cannot be installed.

There's a thread on stackexchange which may have a solution. (I haven't tried it yet). It explains why the tools fail to install, and how you can open up the package itself and install the tools yourself:
